Thermal Imaging Diagnostics
Cavity Extraction Ltd Lancashire uses thermal imaging technology as a diagnostic tool when assessing the external structures of a building where the cavity wall insulation is suspected to have failed.
Across the North West, Lancashire, Fylde Coast and Cumbria we have seen problems with cavity wall insulation that can cause failure include; missing, damaged, or inadequate insulation, building envelope air leaks, moisture intrusion, cold bridging and substandard work carried out by third parties.
Utilising Thermal Imaging
As expert insulation removal specialists, we have a reputation for quickly, cleanly and efficiently extracting wet insulation materials and reinstating the building structure. Thermal Imaging is just one of the technologies we employ to make an initial assessment because it is a non-destructive inspection and reliable in the right hands.
The thermal imaging camera uses temperature readings to show the full spectrum of hot and cold or dry and wet across construction surfaces. Hot red areas as shown indicate a build-up of heat or heat being retained and cold blue areas the opposite, where the structure is cold or wet.
When running a diagnostic inside a property the blue/cold areas are indicative of a problem because warmth should be retained inside the property. On the outside of the property however, the red areas indicate heat loss and a therefore a problem because there should not be any loss where efficient construction and insulation exists.
The cameras produce reliable diagnostic images and our experts can quickly and accurately identify sources of energy inefficiencies, water ingress, damage and structural issues. It provides information so we can help our customers make informed decisions on remedial repairs and regain energy efficiency and savings.
The team at Cavity Extraction Ltd have had training from the highest-qualified thermography instructors and are certified in the use of infrared imaging. We have invested in this technology and expertise because it saves our customers time and ultimately money.
If you have an area of damp, mould or degrading surfaces or you are not getting the energy performance you were promised from insulation, find out how our thermal imaging service can help on 01772 972343.
